I have over ten years of experience as a licensed family daycare provider. I have also raised 3 of my own children. The philosophy of my home child care is one based on the understanding that each child is a unique individual and deserves to be treated with respect. Childhood is a unique and valuable stage of the human life cycle.

Les Enfants offers your child a nurturing, warm, and accepting environment while providing enriching hands-on learning experiences. Daily opportunities for social, emotional, creative, cognitive, motor development and language will be provided and encouraged. A daily schedule will be followed.

Early literacy is extremely important in a child’s development. Books are accessible to all ages of children in the daycare home. We read together daily and the subject relates to the curriculum.

Assistance of daily routines and activities in a child’s development, will aid in fostering a sense of independence and enhance self-esteem. For example, children will be encouraged to feed themselves, dress for outdoor play, and wash their hands when they are developmentally ready.

The family child care home will help children learn to live and work together with their peers, to respect individual differences, self-awareness, competence, self-worth, and resiliency.

Children are best understood and supported in the context of family, culture, community, and society. Any information pertinent to a child’s health or events at home which may affect his/her behavior should be shared. Communication is beneficial to assure the health and total development of the child.

My work with children is based on the knowledge of child development. I continue to base daily practices upon current knowledge in the field of child growth and development. In decisions concerning children, I incorporate my formal education, continued training, and personal experience.

I have a large open concept family room/dining room off the kitchen, where we play and have our meals and snacks. There is a large 3 season sun room off of the family room where we play in the warmer months. From the family room I have access to a finished basement playroom designated solely for the daycare children. The playroom is setup like a preschool with “centers” for the children to play. For nap time I have private bedrooms available for the children to sleep.

I have a large, private back yard with a separate paved driveway for the children to use with age appropriate ride-on toys. A portion of the back yard has also been designated for climbers, play house, sandbox, water table, and picnic table in the warmer months. I do have a large, in ground pool that is fenced in separately from the rest of the yard. There is a 5 foot ornamental rod iron fence and child-proof locked gate surrounding the pool.
